Ways to Save Money

Abstract: Save on groceries by freezing a portion of your fruit to eliminate wasting money.

If you face over-ripe bananas because your family can't eat the entire bunch fast enough, consider freezing the bananas. Simply peel the bananas and throw them into a air tight plastic bag until you're ready to use them.

  • One or two frozen bananas makes a great smoothie!
  • Two or more bananas? Make banana muffins for your family. This will be one way to ensure that they eat breakfast!  Don't forget, you can freeze the muffins too if you decide to make a double batch.
  • Instead of buying a cookbook for a recipe, simply type in "banana bread recipe" into a search engine.  Voila!  You can now find practically any recipe imaginable online.
  • Be an equal opportunity fruit saver - blueberries and strawberries freeze well too!
